Merry Merry Christmas!

Christmas was a blast this year- since Emerson got the concept and was interested in playing. We have yet to remove her from her kitchen and the baby dolls are eating her plastic food- as well as us! The Melting Pot has been having a successful season and Eric has been busy, busy, busy. With all the weather he can hardly wait to move to the West Side and shorten the commute and the inner belt bridge trip. We were very glad to see so many friends and family over the past week and we are very happy to see everyone doing so well. If we didn't get to see you, we hope to soon!

Thank-you Mr. Turkey!

Thanksgiving was cool. No one was sick ! Yippee! Aunt Jenna, Granny and Daryl made an awesome meal and Emerson got to hang with the adults. By the end of the night she was running laps around Jenna's house and stealing the Santa Hat! Time to get the Christmas tree up!

Happy Crappy Halloween

So... Emerson's 2nd Halloween was less than stellar. After spending a good deal of time making her Abby Caddaby costume (which thankfully will fit next year), Emerson spent the evening throwing up into a bucket. Granny stopped by to assist and the evening pretty much sucked. We have a sad picture of Emerson in the costume... not all of the costume... just the parts I could stick her into before the complete meltdown.

Pumpkins!

Emerson got to pick out her first pumpkin! (Last year she got what she got...) Strangely enough she was more in awe of the white pumpkins than the orange ones. So, one white pumpkin and a wagon ride later it was over.

Happy Fall Y'All!

Now that Emerson is 1.5 (yippie), she has decided to assert her independence. Yes, she is now fond of throwing herself onto the floor or stomping her feet till she gets what she wants. We have found her to be very strong willed and the best way of dealing is distraction and diversion. We just pray that this doesn't foreshadow her teen years.
The Melting Pot is doing extremely well... yet the McIntyre household is still in the depths of sickness. Emerson and Jaime still have a barking cough and now Eric is sick in bed with the flu. Somehow or another we believe this all to be a test... of what we do not know, but we are dealing.
Looking forward to sharing Emerson's Halloween photos... see ya later!

The Truth About Pink Eye...

Yes it is highly contagious. Yes your eye does turn a nasty shade of red/ pink. Yes it does burn. And Yes, it does produce one heck of a cold that causes you to have no voice and nastyness from head to toe. Whether it was Emerson bringing it home from school or Jaime bringing it home from school... it does not matter. We hate pink eye!

OPEN!

VIP night was a smashing success and now that the Pot a la Rocky  River is open... things are going crazy cool! Business is brisk and booming and Eric and Lindsey and the gang are always busy. Here is to the holidays and finding a spot for Akron to open in! Check out the pics in the Melting Pot album!

Hello it's a great day at Jeff Lewis' Office... 'um I mean... Welcome to The Melting Pot Rocky River. How may I help you?

So RR MP opens to the public in just two weeks. Eric has been almost living there, but since they are all legal to sell booze now he seems to be better! Emerson is loving Ridge Pointe- even though she still has a little cry every morning. Her teachers Michelle and Ashley are awesome and got her through her blankee withdrawls! So every Monday she hangs out with Grandma Pope and every friday she gets her fix with Grandma Mac and in the middle she gets to play with her friends and teachers!
We hope everyone will be able to make it out to Rocky River sometime in the near future!

Bye Bye Summer... Hello Melting Pot!

Even though summer is pretty much spent (Emerson starts 'school' next week), The Melting Pot a la Rocky River is projecting a mid September opening! Yeah! As of now the woodwork is being installed and Eric, Lindsey and Adam are getting ready to hire! Emerson is doing well. She is recovering from Flip Cup (sorry no photos... the rain prevented a lot) with an ear infection, but none the less she is doing well. She has a new found love for all dogs and puppies and has added a variety of words to her vocab.

Happy 4th of July

We all celebrated over at the Pope's this year! Lots of fireworks and a fire truck later(which had nothing to do with the fire works- but Grandma Pope will not be lighting candles in the bathroom anymore)...
Emerson had her first squirt gun fight. Not sure who won, but Granny managed to nail her upside the head (take a look to the right).

The Melting Pot - Rocky River!

For the past few weeks we have gone out to the new Melting Pot in WestGate and have been taking pictures. Check them out in the Melting Pot Gallery. As of now it is set to open sometime in September! Our latest walk through allowed us to see most of the walls sheetrocked. On the flip side- the UPS man has been to our house every morning before 10:00 delivering fabric samples! Eric is too excited... it is finally almost here!

14 Months!

The past two months have been crazy and quick to fly by (thus preventing the posting of updates). Best news is that Emerson's surgery for her eye was cancelled! Her eye doctor insisted we would need it and we went ahead and scheduled it... but after a month of eye massage- she is perfect! Over the past two months Emerson has taken to running (really fast), climbing (and standing atop everything), talking (pretty, cracker, doggie, book are her favorite) and swimming! You cannot drag the girl away from a pool! She got some spiffy new bangs and a couple more teeth. Summer is going to rock and with The New Melting Pot in Rocky River opening in September things are going to get a whole lot crazier! Check out all the pics...

Happy Birthday Emerson

Emerson had an awesome birthday! She had two cakes (because our homemade Elmo cake was questionable at best) and decided she would rather massage them than eat them. She started out with her first birthday donut and got two really cool presents from mom and dad (her playhouse and climber). The rest of the day was a lot of fun, since everyone came to visit and play! Thanks to all- we all had a really great day!

11 months!

Only one more month and WOW! Emerson is walking now. Crawling is used in moments of frustration... but for the most part she is completely upright (although she has moments of looking a little drunk). Jager and her have found a common ground: string cheese. So their relationship is improving with each cheese stick opened. Emerson will be spending St. Patrick's Day with Grandma Mac and hopefully next year she can go out for a green milk! Congrats to Baby Owen being born healthy and happy!

Double Digits... 10!

We have been working on that walking thing... but crawling is still her world. She manages to get around fine and can climb over anything in her path- including the stairs! Between Grandpa's and her dad she has learned a few new tricks: clicking with her tongue, angry face, waving bye bye and moo for a cow. Thanks to her Grandma she now knows how to woof like a dog. Thank goodness she hasn't tried to mimic everything everyone says!

9 Months in... 9 months out...

So the day after Christmas, Miss Emerson decided that she would crawl and she hasn't stopped yet. She is crawling, standing, walking from furniture piece to piece and every once in a while she will let go in amazement. We are working on walking with the walker and she has perfected the high 5.
