Mommy and Me Day

Emerson decided that she wanted to go to the beach... I really didn't. But the middle ground was going to the beach and letting her collect shells, drift wood and rocks (this is so her... she has a glass container with all her "treasurers" in our kitchen). Problem was mother nature ended it quickly and we decided to go to Dave and Buster's to play games. Strangely enough, she kicked my butt a couple of times on a few games and when she had enough we went to spend her winnings. The bear she wanted was 7 tickets off what she had collected so she grabbed my arm and said we had to play more... which she won a quick game and ran back to collect her Sunshine Bear. Then Emerson decided she wanted to eat there, which she did as a very big girl and then we visited Daddy at The Melting Pot!

Baby Mac's Room

Since Emerson moved to the big girl room last summer, the nursery has sat vacant for a while. When I did it for Emerson, I picked a neutral theme with boy or girl colors. Thank goodness- cause there wasn't really anything to change. We did get all new furniture (which is a little more masculine than Emerson's white stuff), Jess painted a sweet elephant for the wall and Emerson painted some amazing portraits of her Mommy and Daddy! The only problem was that the furniture's stain smelled forever! Hence the tower fan in one of the pics. Lots of white vinegar and coffee grounds, along with rewashing all the baby clothes has resulted in a much more pleasant scent!

Happy Father's Day!

Emerson took us to the Strawberry Festival today! She had a blast riding the kiddie rides, although she was disappointed that we wouldn't let her ride some of them because they were a little big for her. She can hardly wait for Disney World this October! Everyone had some fair food and we managed to get to see both Papa's this year!

Emerson's Last Day at Ridge Pointe

After almost two years at Ridge Point, Emerson's last day was today. She is really sad to be leaving her teachers Ms. Heather and Michele (who has moved from room to room with Emerson since she started... which made the two even more close).  She is also going to miss her best friends she has made; however, she will get to spend a lot more time with mommy and daddy and her little brother! In the fall she will be attending Mentor United Methodist Preschool two mornings a week and who knows... after mommy goes back to work sometime next year, she may get to visit Ridge Pointe again!

Napping on the Dog Bed...

Emerson has taken a liking to the dog bed. Strange. I moved it to make room for a few baby things and now she thinks that Jager likes sharing. He doesn't, so we will be moving it back in hopes of him regaining what is rightfully his.

What the...

Emerson has always been sensitive to bug bites. She still has scars from last summer. But this tops them all. After spending an afternoon outside playing in the sprinkler, the next day her foot began to swell and change color and produce a blister that did not stop growing until the dreaded pop! We  took her to the doctor, who took one look at it, said "ohhhh" and went and got another doctor who repeated the same horrible face and confused expression. The above picture does not do the actual image justice. We still don't know what it was... but we did find out that Emerson is very adaptable (she slide around on her butt for over a day) and she actually became more comfortable with the doctor.
