What do you get for a five year old?

Sleeping in the Princess Room!

Emerson's Reaction!

Bryce's Tape Job!

A new paint job on the bedroom! When we moved into Cranberry Lane I painted the largest spare room blue (as you can see from the bottom picture). I was really into the mistake paints at Home Depot, and blue was what I got! So, Emerson has been patient and accepting of the blue for a few years now and we wanted to give her something a little more princess like! I picked out a solid pink and after Eric saw it he wanted something more. He went to Home Depot and picked out the Disney paints and stencils and spent an entire night painting the masterpiece! We painted everything else white to offset the massive amount of pink and Emerson loved it. Happy Birthday baby!

Happy 5th Birthday!

Emerson had an awesome birthday! We had dinner (sushi, per request) and cake and once again, eight months after the fact, Bryce cried his eyes out at the Happy Birthday song (hence the blurry picture to prove the point). There was a lot of Barbie to be had and iCarly to boot!

Daddy & Emerson Time

Eric took Emerson to the Natural History Museum for the day and then out to lunch at Stir Crazy! She loved it and they both had a great day together.

The down side of being a mommy...

Five minutes into the allergy testing. Eggs are 1 &2, Peanuts are 8!

I really hate this. When Bryce was almost a year we gave him scrambled eggs and he turned into a blotchy rash. From that I took him to the allergist to find out that he was allergic to wheat, milk, shellfish, soy, CHICKEN and really allergic to all nuts, peanuts and EGGS! We went for our followup this past Thursday and were excited to learn that he was no longer allergic to wheat, milk or shellfish! Bring on the shrimp! His eggs did increase, which sucks, but the doctor assured us that more food allergies will drop as time goes by and we hope that by the time he enters kindergarten that the epi pen will go in the trash.
There is a down side to this. When we started talking to the doctor he asked how Bryce was doing. We told him that the food situation was working but that his nose was running and his eczema was picking up again. The doctor tested him for everything. He told us it was a long shot and that children under 6 are hardly ever allergic to anything "environmental" and that it was just a precaution. Once again the McIntyres defied the usual and Bryce, at less than two, is allergic to pollen, trees, grass, ragweed, feather, dust, other crap, cats and is seriously allergic to dogs. Unlike food allergies these will only intensify with age. Sadly, these allergies, along with the eczema will take him down the road of asthma. We were given three scripts, but we are waiting to fill them. I am going to look at all other alternatives before we begin actual meds. I know that Eric and Guy and my Dad and brother all suffer from similar, if not exact, allergies, so this is all workable!

Easter at Nan's and Papa Mickey's

Emerson and Bryce had another hunt at Nanny's and Papa's house and then spent a lot of time on the swing set, the gator and the little tractor. Bryce isn't quite big enough to reach the peddles on the little tractor, but he loved being pulled around by Emerson. After a few adult beverages Uncle Mike and I made the tragic mistake of trying to dig up the time capsule I planted when I was like 8 with my great grandmother. The main problem was that there were three rocks it could have been planted next to and the ground was not willing to participate. In a few weeks we plan to get a metal detector and give it another shot!

Easter Morning!

The skill level between Emerson and Bryce is astonishing. Emerson found the Eggs without even trying, Bryce was more interested in looking at them in the box. The Big Bunny left them some sweet buckets of loot and he also managed to hide one egg so well we can't find it... still.
